New force sensing HOTAS from Saitek
// January 13th, 2010 // F-16 simulators
News for virtual aviators. Saitek is launching great HOTAS (Throttle & stick) for simulators (link to video below). The set presented at CES 2010 resembles a bit the hybrid of real F-22 and F-35 HOTAS.
Looks quite solid, no doubt. Moreover it’s a first ready-made stick with force sensing. Of course, it’s still no go for hardcore F-16 fans (we have precise, metal F-16 HOTAS replica from Thrustmaster + fantastic, force sensing (and also expensive :)) FSSB mode (uses force sensors to measure the displacement of the joystick).
Anyway, I have to admit it looks futuristic, a bit “avatarish” and I’d chose it for sure as my HOTAS if I tried to replicate F-22 or F-35! So, X65, see you in the future (don’t forget to get metal)! :)
